![]() ![]() When they answered Caesar, He said this, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.” But Jesus had a third and inspired answer. If he said yes, the Jews would turn on Him and if he answered no, the Pharisees would turn Him in for treason. They asked, “Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” The Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus with a question they felt could only be answered in one of two ways. Don’t believe that? Then look at the parable in Matthew 22:17-22. Money belongs to the world system and wealth belongs to the Lord. It’s the things that God created that make up the real wealth of this plantet things like gold and silver, cattle and lands, timber, oil and gas, and more. Money was created by people to make the exchange of real wealth more convenient. Deuteronomy 8:18 say, “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…” It’s important to understand that wealth is not money. ![]()
